In this summer, UV rays and dust have taken a toll on our feet. We can clearly see the strap pattern embroided on our feet. Sometimes walking barefoot or even if you are wearing slippers every time you get sore feet like I have.

My roomie mocks at me seeing the bedsheet getting stuck with my feet . I know you too are laughing at me but yeah it seriously happens.So I decided to do a simple regime for them.

Let me first give a brief introduction about the various things we will be using for foot care so that we know what we are doing and why.Not doing just for the sake of doing it.

SALT/ZINC OXIDE - Relaxer, relieves aches and pains
ROSEWATER - Antiseptic
LEMON/ VINEGAR - Removes bacteria  and the smell arisen due to the waste of these bacteria. Also a Skin Lightener, Removes Tan.

1. Most Simplest 5 steps Method

In this method, you don't have to buy any special product you just have to use your household ingredients-Salt, Shower gel, Pumice Stone, Lotion, Socks.

a. Take a bucket half filled with lukewarm water.

b.  Add salt and shower gel to it.
c. Soak your feet in it for 10 mins and play your favorite tracks.
    Take a deep breath. Soothe your senses out.
d. Take a Foot scrubber (4 in 1) / pumice stone.I have bought Vaadi's Foot care Scrub with lemongrass to remove the dead skin.
Instead of spending huge bucks at parlour, Keep a Cuticle remover ready if you want a proper feel of a parlour type pedicure at home.
e. After soaking again, Towel dry them and apply moisturizer. I apply Nivea Body Lotion and put on a pair of socks.

2. Rosewater & Glycerine

With Glycerine to soften the cracked heels and rosewater has antiseptic properties. It adds vitamins and antioxidants to otherwise normal water.Apply equal amount of both before going to bed at night.
You can rosewater and glycerine to the water also in the first method mentioned above and soak your feet in it.

3. Lemon

Soak your feet for 10-15 minutes in warm water with lemon juice added to it. The citric acid is a bacteria exterminator.

You can also make a foot pack with one teaspoon Vaseline and the juice of one lemon. Wear Socks and leave it overnight.

Some other tips-

For severe conditions,try Zinc oxide cream. It is used to treat minor skin irritations like cuts, burns, etc. It works by providing a skin barrier and help heal skin irritation.

I experimented with glycerine It gave a sense of stick.I don't prefer it unless the problem is big. Glycerine is a superman.Instead Boroline also works great!

When going outside, don't forget to apply Sunscreen with SPF 20-30 or more depending on the amount of Sun exposure.

If your feet sweat a lot and embarrass you in public because of the stinky smell.Try Vinegar in water. The acid will kill all the bacteria grown due to sweating

 Avoid using very hot water, which can cause your feet to dry out more.

Use Aromatic oils like lavender or chamomile to lift up your senses and it will leave your feet as if you are no less than a princess.
